National Eye Health Week
Raising awareness of eye health and the importance of regular Eye Tests, National Eye Health Week 2017 runs from 18-24 September.
There are over two million people in the UK living with sight loss, which has a significant impact on their daily lives. And it’s predicted that by 2030 that number will be over 2.7 million. National Eye Health Week plays an important part in countering this worrying rise.

Why are eye tests so important?
An Eye Test is about much more than assessing whether you need glasses or contact lenses. It’s also an appraisal of your eye health, and can detect a number of common eye conditions which, if found early enough, can be treated successfully.
Routine eye tests can also bring to light other underlying health conditions, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. Our expert optometrists can even detect the early signs of a potential stroke.
That’s why Eye Tests are so important and why people of all ages, even young children, should have their eyes checked regularly, at least once every two years.
We’ve over a 100 different ways of testing your eyes, so the test will be tailored to your individual needs and circumstances. However, it will still only take about half an hour. A 30 minute Eye Test once every two years can help your vision to last a lifetime.
