How to Ditch Plastic

JULY IS Plastic Free Month and if you’re ready to start your plastic-free journey then check out our top tips…

Say No to Single-Use Plastics
Single-use plastics like bags, straws, and coffee cups are major culprits. Make it a habit to carry a reusable bag, a metal or bamboo straw, and a travel mug with you. It’s all about getting into the routine of saying no to those single-use items.

Personal Care
Many personal care products come in plastic, but there are great alternatives out there. Try shampoo and conditioner bars, solid lotions, and toothpaste tablets. More and more brands are getting on board with eco-friendly packaging.

Choose Sustainable Clothes
Synthetic fabrics are basically plastic and shed microfibers when washed. Opt for natural fibres like cotton, linen, wool, and hemp. Look for brands that focus on sustainable materials and practices – we love River Island’s ‘Kind Society’ range.

DIY and Upcycle
Making your own stuff can be fun and eco-friendly. DIY cleaning products using ingredients like vinegar and baking soda work great. Upcycle old containers and fabrics to give them a new life and keep them out of the trash.

Spread the Word
Educate yourself and others about the impact of plastic and how to live without it. Share your progress on social media, join community groups, and get involved in clean-up events. The more people know, the bigger the impact we can make!
